| Silence is so... accurate. Mark Rothko |
Listen: The Brian Lehrer Show
"I was so moved by you on the Brian Lehrer show this morning. You are courageous and eloquent and are saying things that most writers don't dare to say. We have become so 'politically correct' in the important areas of our lives, we are losing the ability to say what it is we really mean. You have shown us your badge of courage. You are a shining example to us all. You will have many detractors, but they will be far outnumbered by those of us that I consider to be the 'silent majority'. This is the first time I have ever put pen to paper to offer my congratulations and support to someone I greatly admire. A wise woman once said that for a memoir to be worth reading, it has to be written as though everyone mentioned is already dead, or else it will be filled with 'pulled punches' and lots of tiptoeing around the thorny issues. You have waded in where others' might have tiptoed and I am deeply grateful to you for that. You have started a conversation and dialogue that is long overdue. I wish you much success in all of your endeavors and know that you will continue to speak the truth, even when it is painful to hear, both for us and for you." --Thomas, NYC
